One of my most favorite things about being a photographer is the connection I'm building with all my wonderful clients. I can honestly tell you that being a part of your journey and witnessing the beautiful changes and growth that happens is second only to seeing it with my own family. I literally feel like I've been adopted by so many new people this past year, and I'm just so beyond grateful and more fulfilled more than I ever have been in my entire life.
The AJF Family is super special to me, and their year in particular has been especially abundant with blessings. In March, I was honored to be the one capture their maternity photos, and a little more than a month later, I got to sneak over for a quick snap and snuggle sesh with baby Joie. Needless to say, I was beyond ecstatic when they called me for their first family session. And get this ... they were even willing to miss the Seahawks game! 😳 If that ain't love, I don't know what is, y'all!
Now, I could be the only one, but I think the gorgeous scenery at Nisqually Wildlife Refuge combined with the great company more than made up for it. I mean, how many photographers do you know share a love for quoting and re-enacting scenes from Zoolander and Anchorman? I'm just sayin'! The absolute BEST part for me though was hearing about - and seeing - how life has changed for all of them since they became a family of four. They were all smiles, hugs, and kisses, and it had little to nothing to do with me. I'm pretty sure that baby Joie is one of the most loved babies on the entire planet. With those beautiful blue eyes, gorgeous long eyelashes, and the sweetest smile that'll melt your freakin' heart, it's easy to see why! And let's talk about the bond between Alyssa and Joie. Alyssa would give me the evil eye when I tried to make her get too snuggly with her parents, but it is abundantly clear she loves her baby sister like no other person on the planet. If your heart doesn't melt when you see Joie smile, it will certainly explode when you watch those two together. 😍 Also, seeing Amanda take off running with Joie like a bat out of hell when Joel tried to "show her" that "Garter snakes are perfectly harmless and safe" was pretty dang funny, not gonna lie. I think she has the speed and baby carrying skills of a Seahawks player! 😂
